Some of my favorite moments with my girlfriends have happened over bottomless mimosas, a Bloody Mary bar, and infinite chicken and waffles or eggs benny. Sure, we find ourselves frequenting some of the same haunts but with good reason–they’re amazing. Check out my picks for brunch all over Chicago:
Fremont
Hands down, Fremont in River North is IT. The all-you-can-eat brunch includes an omelette bar, a waffle station, a seafood tower, a carving station, and oh so much more. The most beautiful bloody bar I’ve ever seen is also available for the vodka lovers, as well as bottomless DIY mimosas, complete with a variety of juices for mixing. Best described as a brunch so beautiful you could cry.
SIP
Looking for an all-American joint that has something for everyone? Head up to SIP in Northcenter and try some classic dishes with a twist–the eggs Benedict includes black truffle hollandaise and peppercorn mortadella, while the SIP breakfast sandwich adds a to-die-for paprika aioli. Drinks? You got em–bottomless mimosas all around!
Hutch
If you’re in the Wrigleyville area, make Hutch a priority. Carafes of mimosas (try the blood orange!) are readily available and are great for a group and the food is amazing. The Lakeview skillet is a can’t-miss, as well as the fried chicken and corn waffle if you’re looking for comfort food with a kick.
Stout
Stout is an old favorite among my group. Why? Great food, a great build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, and perfect for watching a game. Don’t miss the pretzels, ANY of the breakfast flatbreads, or the sliders. Still hungry for the 4th quarter? Get the skillet cookie. Trust me.
Marmalade
Are you a fan of anything Benedict? Head up to Marmalade, where you have a choice of a DOZEN different types of eggs bennies…*sigh*. The classic Benedict is, well, always a classic, but check out the Florentine Crab Benedict as well. Not in the mood for eggs? The Crêpa de Falso is where it’s at.
Bub City
Need something sort of quick but delicious? Grab a table at River North staple Bub City and tuck into one of the hash brown skillets or the classic chicken and waffles (with a jalapeno maple syrup!). Once again, a fantastic bloody bar is available, complete with shrimp, cheese curds, jerky, veggies, mini grilled cheese sandwiches, and a High Life sidecar.
