Throwback to your childhood favorite and order the banana split. This thing is heaven in a bowl–go traditional, or doctor it up with a variety of fixins’ like bacon (!!!) Make sure you have enough people to eat this sundae–three of us couldn’t finish it!

20160518_075206.jpgAhhhh Jeni’s…your sweet little old-school ice cream shop right in Wicker Park! Dozens of delicious flavors, creative sundaes (peanut butter and jelly anyone?) and an adorable atmosphere make Jeni’s The perfect pit stop to satiate a craving.

You guys. Layers of chocolate cake. With rich chocolaty frosting. With a CHOCOLATE KNIFE stabbed through the top. Go here. Eat the Death By Chocolate Cake. Thank me in the comments.

Stan’s Donuts

wp-1463571994416.jpgOK so Stan’s isn’t technically a “dessert stop” but I’ll be damned if you don’t find their amazing donuts and gelato mouth-wateringly good. Located throughout the city, Stan’s offers something for everyone–try the lemon pistachio donut for a sweet-but-not-cavity-inducing treat.

This adorable ice cream parlor in Lakeview offers some of the BEST homemade ice cream I’ve ever had.  The cute vintage look and outdoor seating makes for the perfect snack stop on a warm summer day.  Try the Cubbie Crunch in a waffle cone.  To. Die. For.

Not a chocolate lover? Not a problem when you had into Beatrix! Grab a slice of the Oh My! Caramel Pie for a rich, dense, custardy option. I would have posted a photo of this pie, but well…I ate it.

And when in doubt….

You know what I’m about to say. Treat yo’self and get the slice of chocolate cake.
