Many moons ago, I attended Arizona State University. Then one day I graduated, and I got into my Dodge Neon and drove 26 hours up to Chicago. #NoRegrets
However, because life happened and people moved away, I never really had a ‘reason’ to go back to Tempe and visit ASU or my old haunts – until now. Take a look at some of the most fun things to do on a college campus (and off!) in beautiful Arizona.
Hike Papago Park
Venture out to the mountains for a quick and easy climb with a beautiful view (seriously, it only took us about 20 minutes to get to the top). Go early before it gets unbearably hot and take in desert views and a little relaxation before the day starts.
Tour ASU Campus
Arizona State University is home to one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country and it should definitely appear on anyone’s Phoenix agenda. From walking down Palm Walk to hanging out at the Memorial Union, visiting this campus is an eye opener. I will say that it has changed over the last decade, but it’s still a gorgeous place to hang out.
Drink Poolside at Hotel Valley Ho
Relax in the sun at Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale – for free! On weekdays, the hotel allows outside visitors to hang out at their beautiful pool and cabana area. Sip on some frozen bevs and take a dip at your leisure and soak in some Arizona sun.
Bop Around Old Town Scottsdale
Old Town Scottsdale is home to some super fun bars and restaurants with amazing patios – a must if you’re visiting Arizona! Hit up Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers for, well, beer and burgers and you will leave full and super happy.
Of course, an old standby in Old Town Scottsdale is Loco Patron – an ASU favorite circa 2006. Head out to Loco’s patio for a delish marg, great people watching, and fun in the sun!
