If you’re like me, you absolutely, without a doubt need to start your day with a good caffeine buzz. I mean, how else do you wake up?
Don’t get me wrong, I do love me a good PSL in the fall but sometimes you just want something more….special, amirite? Good thing Chicago has become something of a haven for adorable cafes with super creative coffee sure to satisfy even the biggest of coffee snobs.
Check them out!
DropShot Coffee & Snack Bar
Sports. Coffee. Food. Are you kidding me? DropShot Coffee & Snack Bar is THE go-to for a coffee EXPERIENCE. Vintage sports equipment, chairs, and even bleacher seating make up this huge cafe, and they even have outlets at every seating area so your laptop won’t be without juice.
Oh, and bonus – there’s a full menu all day long!
Is that glitter in your coffee or are you just happy to see me? Limitless in the West Loop actually puts GLITTER (don’t worry, it’s edible) in their lattes and they are DELISH. This spot is gorgeous too, so your Instagram is sure to peak with this gem.
Katherine Anne’s Confections
Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? Look no further than Katherine Anne’s Confections in the Humboldt Park area. In addition to some amazing mochas, they specialize in DRINKING CHOCOLATE, which is perhaps made from the tears of angels. Choose from different flavors and don’t forget to add a homemade marshmallow!
Seriously, you’ll thank me later.
Goddess and Grocer
Goddess and Grocer is a total Chicago staple by this point, but here me out. Have you had their regular black coffee? It’s amazing!
If you’re looking for something a little more fancy, try the horchata and the chai latte. They are heavenly.
Turn back time with this 90s throwback cafe, complete with a replica of the Delorean! You’ll love the Koopa Troopa, a peanut buttery cup of goodness, as well as the Honey Bear Latte, which, well, contains local honey!
They always have a fantastic playlist too, so get ready to channel your inner emo kid and jam out to some Taking Back Sunday or My Chemical Romance.
